For more than 30 years, Attorney Miguel J. Cervantes has practiced law in Texas. He is tough trial lawyer in court who makes a point of warmly welcoming clients in his homey offices located in a two-story house just two miles from the El Paso, Texas courthouse.

Prior to his private practice as a criminal attorney in El Paso—who also helps his clients with personal injury, probate, and real estate law—Mr. Cervantes spent many years in public service as:

Lain A. Lawrence

Mr. Lawrence was born and raised in Russellville, Arkansas. Growing up, Mr. Lawrence was taught the values of virtue and diligence. After completing high school, Mr. Lawrence studied at Arkansas Tech University where he majored in History and Political Science. Mr. Lawrence went on to attend study at the University of Arkansas School of Law.

Having spent a considerable amount of his time in the Rockies, Mr. Lawrence knew that he wanted to practice and live in Colorado. Mr. Lawrence has spent his career focusing on criminal defense and personal injury matters, and he enjoys helping those in need.

Karen Southworth

Administrator - Private Investigator

Karen Southworth joined the Cervantes Law Firm, LLC, bringing with her 20+ years of experience in Customer Service, Insurance Underwriting, Legal Assistant, and Management Experience.

Karen’s professional background spans over two decades of Customer service and Management expertise in various Business Industries. In 2013, Karen returned to the Insurance arena to work for a major Insurance Company as an Insurance Underwriter and became a major key player in determining key risk factors to help the company save thousands of dollars with her knowledge in business management expertise.

With a long background in Business Management, bankruptcy, employment law, immigration, and insurance defense, Karen now enjoys an appreciation for the opportunity to help serve clients who take a proactive approach to Criminal Defense and Personal Injury cases.

Karen was raised in Tela, Honduras and has trust amongst the Latino Community in Colorado. Karen is extremely fluent in Spanish.

When not working, Karen enjoys meeting new friends at community and church events, and pursuing her business talents. Karen also enjoys gourmet cooking, gardening, and traveling.
